there lived a creature in the Forest of Sighs
who all the other animals feared and despised
with a wooden body and sorrowful eyes
he'd hunch over and wander every sunrise
the animals thought him something contrived
of darkness and evil; an embodiment of lies
they plotted together to remove him from Sighs
certain this action would be the most wise
one day they approached him with chins held high
demanding the creature leave their lives
while with head hung low he stalked out of Sighs
without its Guardian, the forest died.
